THE PARIS NEWS, Sunday, July 28, 1940, p. 11: “BELL FUNERAL. Last rites were held Saturday afternoon at the home of H. C. Bell, 460 Maple Avenue, for Mrs. D. W. Bell of 345 West Houston Street, who died Friday about noon at the Sanitarium of Paris. Service was conducted by the Rev. Raymond Smoot of Immanuel Baptist Church, Manton-Fry Funeral Home having charge of arrangements, and burial was made at the Brackeen Cemetery near Atlas. Pall bearers were Vernon and Weldon Blankenship, Clarence and Walter Dingman, Alvin Brinson and Marshall Kent. Mrs. Bell leaves her husband and one son, besides her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry L. Howerton of Arkansas.”
