THE PARIS NEWS, Monday, July 13, 1953, p. 10: “Mrs. Walter Bell. Mrs. Walter Bell, 79, of Milton community, died Sunday at 10:45 p.m. at home. She had been suffering from a heart ailment. The funeral, Monday at 4 p.m., was arranged at Milton church, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Tom Hubbard, J. M. Grant Funeral Home of Deport making burial in Milton Cemetery. The former Miss Leila S. Bedford, daughter of the late Thomas L. and Mary Ada Bedford, was born in Mississippi, March 21, 1874. She had lived at Milton many years. Surviving are her husband; a stepson, Holland Bell, Milton, and a foster son, Luther Higgs, Paris; a brother, Walter Bedford, Reno community, and Mrs. Nannie Holder of Clay County, a sister.”
