THE PARIS NEWS, Sunday, January 20, 1935, Pg. 12: “Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Collins left Saturday for Waco in response to a message announcing the death of Will Beeson, brother-in-law of Mr. Collins, who died of a heart attack about 9:30 o’clock Saturday morning. Mr. Beeson had been in Paris last Tuesday to attend the funeral of his brother-in-law, Henry Collins of Fort Worth. Mr. Beeson, about 52 years old, was born at Clarksville, and later engaged there and in Paris as a cotton buyer. He had been in this business in Waco a number of years. Funeral services will be held in Waco at 8:45 o’clock Monday morning and the body will be brought here for interment at Evergreen at 4 o’clock that afternoon, services to be conducted by the Rev. C. E. Hereford of Waco, assisted by Dr. W. M. Wright of First Baptist Church here, and pallbearers will be chosen from the Masonic lodge here. Surviving Mr. Beeson are his mother, Mrs. J. M. Beeson, his widow, the former Miss Margaret Collins, two sisters, Mrs. Noel Evans of Oklahoma City and Mrs. J. L. Hereford of Nashville, Tenn., and a brother, J. M. Beeson, Jr. , of Nashville.” Submitted by Debra Usry.
THE WACO NEWS-TRIBUNE, (Waco, Texas), Sunday, January 20, 1935, p. 2: “BEESON, WM. A. Funeral services for William A. Beeson, 52, who died of a heart attack at his home, 2829 Gorman avenue, Saturday at 10 a.m. will be held from Columbus Avenue Baptist church at 8:45 a.m. Monday with Rev. C. E. Hereford officiating. Following the services Clark’s will take the body to Paris where interment will be made. Mr. Beeson was local representative of Renfert-Helmbrecht cotton company of Galveston. He was a member of the finance committee of Columbia Avenue Baptist church and president of the Gohagan Bible class of that church. Surviving are his widow, hos mother, Mrs. J. M. Beeson of Idabell, Okla.; one brother, J. M. Beeson of Nashville, Tenn., with whom his mother is visiting; two sisters, Mrs. E. L. Herford of Nashville and Mrs. Noel Evans of Oklahoma City. Active pallbearers will be B. Peeler, Joe Valentine, J. M. Ward, August Rizzotto, Mack Johnson, W. H. Gohagan, C. C. Fuller and A. M. Gilbreath. Honorary pallbearers will be all Masons and members of the cotton profession.” Submitted by Tina Vickery.
