THE PARIS NEWS, Tuesday, July 19, 1977, p. 3A: “Funeral services for Mrs. Lula Beckham of 411 Monticello Drive in Fort Worth have been set for 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel here, Dr. James Semple will officiate, and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will be at the home of Mrs. Bill Eaglebarger, 1625 E. Houston St., Wednesday morning. Mrs. Beckham, who had been the Avon products district manager in this area for many years before her retirement, died Monday morning in Fort Worth.” Submitted by Jeri Jorgensen, jerijorgensen@hotmail.com, 04/29/2014.

LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, hand dated, July 1977: "Mrs. Lula Beckham, 86, of 411 Monticello Drive in Fort Worth, died in Fort Worth Monday morning, July 18,1977. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in the Fry and Gibbs Chapel, with Dr. James Semple, pastor of First Baptist Church officiating. Interment was made in Evergreen Cemetery. Mrs. Beckham was born in Whitewright on November 12,1890, daughter of B.F. Jesse and Jane Daugherty Jesse. She had lived in Paris many years and had been the Avon products district manager in this area before her retirement and was a member of First Baptist Church here. She moved to Fort Worth in 1972. Survivors include one son Charles W. Beckham of Fort Worth; two grandchildren, Barry Beckham of Fort Worth and Mrs. Brenda Vadner of Carrollton; one brother, Charles Jesse of Fort Worth; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were W.F. Jesse, Charles Brown, Lee Mayo, Curtis Beville, Hubert Martin and Robert L. Shiver."
