THE PARIS NEWS, November 8, 1955: "J. C. Becker, 70, who lived at 580-3rd SW, died Tuesday about 6 a.m. in a hospital here, having been in failing health the past five years. His wife, the former Miss Guy Eva Pender of Detroit, survives, besides a sister, Mrs. Mamie Jahrling, New York City. Mr. Becker, native of New York, was a veteran of World War I, who was formerly employed by the Ideal Laundry and previously by the Joplin Grocery here. He married Miss Pender in 1930 in Red River County and they moved here about 14 years ago. He was a member of the Catholic Church and of the American Legion. Gene Roden & Sons have charge of arrangement for services Thursday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Church, the Rev. John V. McCallum officiating, other details being incomplete."
