THE PARIS NEWS, Tuesday, April 8, 1941, p. 8: “H. A. BEATIE IS CALLED BY DEATH. Death of H. A. Beatie, traffic manager for Paris Gocerr Company, occurred after about two months illness Tuesday at 5:17 a.m. at his home, 372 Lamar. He was formerly connected with the old Texas Midland Railroad for a number of years. The Rev. Charles L. Dickey will conduct the funeral service Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Central Presbyterian Church, and interment will be made at Evergreen Cemetery. Surving are his wife, and four children, Miss Louise Beatie here; David Beatie Weatherford; Edwin Beatie of Galveston and Marion Albert Beatie, Texas A. and M. student; a brother, Wll R. Beatie, Springfield, Mo.; three sisters, Mrs. Lida Boales, also of Springfield; Mrs. Harold Tunnell and Mrs. Annie Hedgepeth, Rogersville, Mo. Mr. Beatie was born at Rogersville, September 6, 1875, and had been a resident of Paris 30 years.”
