THE PARIS NEWS, Sunday, October 12, 1975, p. 10: "Walter Beasley. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon in Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel for Walter S. Beasley, 1318 Lamar, longtime Paris druggist. The Rev. Johnny Irish, associate pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiated and burial was made in Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Beasley was dead on arrival at McCuistion Medical Center at 10:30 a.m. Friday. He had been ill several weeks. A co-owner of the old Beasley-Vaughan Drug Store here, Mr. Beasley had been a druggist since the early 1920's. He began his career with the Musselman Drug Co. here and later was associated with the Corner Drug and Palace Drug Stores until he and Herman Vaughan organized Beasley- Vaughan. He retired 12 years ago. Born Aug. 17, 1893, in Cato, Ark., he was a son of W. P. and Mary (Spann) Beasley. He married the former Miss Ann Becker on April 22,1922, in Paris and they had made their home here since then. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and was an inactive member of its board. He was a graduate of Brookston High School, Paris Commercial College and Little Rock Pharmacy School. Survivors are his wife; one sister, Mrs. Scott Nobles of Sulphur, Okla. and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Herman Vaughan, Jim Rives, George Lacey, Rufus Edwards, Walter Franklin and E. C. Odom.
