THE PARIS NEWS, 26 May 1965: "Mrs. R. C. (Clay) Bearden Sr., the former Miss Sybil Ludwick, died suddenly Tuesday about 2:25 p.m., being taken from her home, 206 20th SE, to McCuistion Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. She had been in ill health some time, having returned home from the hospital last Saturday. Daughter of the late O. W. Ludwick Sr. and his wife, who was Mary Lucetti Ratliff, Mrs. Bearden was born in Glory community, south of Paris, 9 Feb 1901, the family moving later to Paris where she attended school. She was a member of Central Presbyterian Church and its Mary Baker Sunday School class, and belonged to the McCuistion Hospital Auxiliary. She was long active in Paris music circles also. She and Robert Clay Barden were married in November, 1919, his death occurring two years ago. Surviving are a son, R. C. (Bob) Bearden, Jr., Midland, and two grandchildren; a brother, Philip Ludwick, Angleton, and these sisters: Mrs. E. B. Burgess, Paris; Mrs. Ed Stallwitz, Dumas; Mrs. M. A. Allen, Houston; Mrs. Clyde Holtzclaw, of Claude, and Mrs. C. Lee Bullard, Tooele, Utah. The funeral will be held at Fry and Gibbs chapel here by the Rev. Melville Nesbit of Central Church, burial to be made in Evergreen Cemetery."
