THE PARIS NEWS, Tuesday, December 16, 1947. 'In failing health since September, W. L. Beard, 66, chief engineer for Cummer-Graham Company here, died at home, 685-5th NW, Tuesday at 1:40 a.m. The funeral was arranged for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home, the Rev. Theodore McElroy of First Christian Church officiating, with burial in evergreen Cemetery. J. C. DeShong, Cecil Mackin, O. B. Fisher, Carl Tolbert, Earl Fields and Harry Jenkins were named pallbearers. Surviving are Mrs. Beard and these children; Mrs. M. H. Haley, Wichita Falls; Thomas A. Beard, Cincinnati, Ohio; Miss Marguerite Beard, Mrs. Rolla Watson, William L. Beard Jr., Robert B. Beard and Ralph E. Beard, all of Paris, and nine grandchildren. William Love Beard was born in York, S. C., January 12, 1886 [1881 on tombstone], son of Thomas P. and Mallie Love Beard. He married Miss Eudora Bradley, June 4, 1902, after coming to Texas, and had lived in Paris since 1905.' On the same stone with Eudora B. Beard.
