| Notes THE PARIS NEWS, October 13, 1987: “Mary Elizabeth Beard. Mary Elizabeth Beard of Garland died Monday, Oct. 12, in Garland Memorial Hospital. Gene Roden’s Sons, Directors of Funerals, will conduct graveside rites at 3 p.m. Wednesday. Oct. 14, in Meadowbrook Cemetery. Mrs. Beard was born Jan. 16, 1898, in Paris, a daughter of J.R. and Mollie Guttery Everett. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jess Beard. Surviving are a daughter, Ruby Helen Presley of Garland; two sisters, Bertha White of Royal, Ark., and Bertie White of Oklahoma City, Okla.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.” THE PARIS NEWS, Thursday, October 15, 1987: “Beard funeral. Funeral services for Mary Elizabeth Beard of Garland were conducted Wednesday at Meadowbrook Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Moore officiating. Gene Roden’s Sons, Directors of Funerals, had charge of arrangements. Mrs. Beard died Monday at Garland Memorial Hospital.” From the record journal of Meadowbrook Cemetery; daughter of J.
