THE PARIS NEWS, Thursday, 17 Nov 1977, p. 9: the Rev. Z. D. Beamon of 1222 E. Blake Rd., died Sunday at Pine Hill Baptist Church, Rt. 1, Detroit. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Paris. The Rev. S. K. Bisszell, pastor of Progressive Baptist Church in Tyler, and the Rev. A. W. brown, pastor of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Fairland Cemetery by Maxey Funeral Home. Mr. Beamon was born Feb. 23, 1896, Woodland, in Red River County. He was the son of Joe and Josephine (Walker) Beamon. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, having served in World War I. He was a retired minister and had pastored in Shawnee, Okla., Oklahoma City, Okla., Deport and Detroit, Texas, Omaha, Neb., and Boxelder. He was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Jo Ann Cannady of Paris, Mrs. Mildred Steen, Mrs. Pauline Cooper and Mrs. Faye M. Kirkland, all of Fresno, Calif., and Mrs. Thelma Crowder of Seattle, Wash.; one son, A. J. Beamon of Ontario, Calif.; Nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren."
