LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, 14 Nov 1985. 'William F. (Bill) Baxter, Rt.1, Blossom, died at Cherry Street Manor at 6:30 p.m. Monday, 11 Nov 1985. Services were held Wednesday, 13 Nov, in the First Baptist Church in Blossom with the Rev. Russell Floyd and the Rev. C.G. Renfro officiating. Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home made burial in Knights of Honor Cemetery at Blossom. Mr. Baxter was born 21 May 1904, in Grayson County, a son of Mr. and Mrs. John F. Baxter. He attended schools at the Linden School in Lamar County and had lived in that area since childhood. On 28 Oct 1927, he married Mamie Carder. She died 29 Mar 1979. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Blossom. Surviving are one son, Clyde R. Baxter of Garland; two daughters, Mrs. Glen E. (Velma) Nations of Kingwood and Mrs. Orville D. (Ruth) Allen of Garland; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren.' Married Mamie Carder. Children names inscribed; Clyde, Ruth and Velma.
