THE PARIS NEWS-Mar.30,1979: Mrs. W.F.Baxter of Rt.l, Blossom, died at 9:53 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m.
Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Blossom with the Rev. J. T. Shipman, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. C.
G. Renfro, former pastor. Burial will be in Knights of Honor Cemetery at Blossom by Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home. The body will lie at the church from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday.
The family will receive friends 7 to 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home. Mrs. Baxter, the former Mamie Bell Carder, was born Dec. 10, 1904, in Chicota, daughter of Tom Carder and Mary (Lee) Carder.
She attended Chicota schools and attended the old Texas State College in Commerce. After graduation from college, she taught school at Chicota, Linden, Walnut Ridge and Blossom. On Oct. 28, 1927, she married W. F.
Baxter in the Blossom area. They had lived in the area all their married life. She was a member of the Blossom First Baptist Church and of the Ladies Adult Sunday School class there. Survivors include her husband, W. F. (Bill) Baxter; one son, Clyde R. Baxter of Garland; two daughters, Mrs.
Glen E. (Velma) Nations of Bellefontaine, Ohio, and Mrs. Orville D. (Ruth) Allen of Garland; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Loy Campbell of Chicota, Mrs.
Morris Tolbert of Paris and Mrs. Troy Frierson of Chicota..
Married William F. Baxter. Children names inscribed; Clyde, Ruth & Velma.
