THE PARIS MORNING NEWS, Friday, January 14, 1921, p. 1: “FUNERAL OF MRS. BATTLE AT ANTIOCH CEMETERY. The funeral of Mrs. M. J. Battle took place yesterday at the Antioch burying ground in the family lot. Rev. H. H. Neeley officiating. Mrs. Battle leaves a husband and three children and father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Adams.”

Information from Katy Allred, Paris, TX, 6 May 1996: Wife of Thomas Walter Battles; buried on one side of son, James E. Battles; marked with a metal marker set in August 2007. Thomas died in and was buried in Modesto, CA 11 Apr 1963. She was the daughter of Robert Alexander Adams and Sarah Frances Wright Adams.
