Bedford; Widow; Age 63 years; Interment at Evergreen Cemetery; Casket size 6/0 manufactured by Chattanooga; casket and embalming $100.00; coach $5.00; 7 carriages $24.50; hearse $10.00; flowers $1.50; open grave $5.00; total cost $146.00. Comment: 'Big and fat.' Sexton records of Evergreen have no indication of this burial. Married Dr. J.C. Bates. Tombstone is inscribed, 'Born in Lawrence Co., AL., died in Paris.'
