THE PARIS NEWS, 1 Dec 1960: “Last rites for Mrs. Nannie (Gramley) Bates, 2670 Bonham St., who died Thursday, were held Friday afternoon at Fry and Gibbs chapel by the Rev. Harvey M. Redford, now of Memorial Christian Church, and the Rev. Don Mecoy, new pastor of First Christian Church. Interment was made in Evergreen Cemetery, bearers being Elbert Green, William Key, Leonard Steelman, D. R. Whitley, Urbane Williams and Leonard Meadlin.”
THE PARIS NEWS, Fri, Dec 2, 1960, p. 3: "Bates Funeral. Funeral service for Mrs. Nannie Gramley Bates, widow of Harvey Bates, who lived at 2670 Bonham St., was set Friday at 4 p. m. at Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home, with interment in Evergreen Cemetery."
