THE PARIS NEWS Fri., May 6, 1994, p.6A. 'Louise Dodd Bassett, 79, of Paris died at 5:50 a.m. Thursday, May 5, 1994, in Parkview Nursing Home. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home will conduct graveside services at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at Union Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Ray Starnes officiating. The family will receive friends at the home of Martha Hickman, 205 Johnson Woods Drive. Mrs. Bassett was born Aug. 13, 1914, in Lanier, Cass County, TX, a daughter of John Allen and Eunice Ada Fant Dodd. She attended schools in Linden and Jefferson. She married T.W. [Tom W.] Bassett in Florida. He died May 21, 1967. She was a retired nurse and a lifetime member of the Friendship Baptist Church of Lanier, TX. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Martha and James A. Hickman of Paris and Nell and Bill Strother of Cedar Hill; two sisters, Nellie Smith of Lewisville and Johnnie Nelson of Irving; five nieces; three nephews, and several cousins.'
