THE PARIS NEWS, Feb. 08, 2008: "Kathryn Bass, 90, of Paris, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed from this life Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008, at Paris Nursing Center. Starrett Funeral Home conducts graveside rites at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at Evergreen Cemetery with Elder Harley Stripland officiating. The family receives friends at the home of her son, Bill Bass, and his wife, Elizabeth. She was born March 14, 1917, in Paris, a daughter of T. R. 'Rate' and Mary T. Brown Bunch. She attended public schools in Paris and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church. On Sept. 16, 1932, she married Floyd Burton Bass in Hugo, Okla. He preceded her in death after 46 years of marriage, on June 16, 1979. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Elma Bunch and Delma Bunch; by a sister, Lanetta Mahaffey and a sister-in-law, Melba Bunch. She is survived by a son, Bill Bass, and wife, Elizabeth, of Paris; two grandchildren, Karen Holmes and husband, Ronnie, of Paris and Mike Bass and wife, Judy, of Fort Smith, Ark.; four great-grandchildren, Dean Holmes and wife, Carmen, of Sherman, Stephanie Easton and husband, Kyle, of Denton, Bishop Bass and Bryce Bass, both of Fort Smith; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Bunch, of Sulphur Springs; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
