LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, undated: "James Leon Boss, 64, of 1107 E. Grove, died Wednesday, February 21, 1979, in a local hospital. Funeral services were held Friday, February 23, at the Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by William S. Conder. Burial ws in Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Boss was born November 4, 1914, in Sulphur Springs, son of J. C. and Mary Maroney Boss. He attended Lone Star public schools and married Marie Shoemate in Blossom on December 23, 1948. they lived in Paris since their marriage. Mr. Boss was a retired service station operator and a member of the West Paris Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Miss Judy Boss of Paris; one son, Jimmy Ed Boss of Paris; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. Cooper Steele and Mrs. W. R. McFadden of Paris; and one brother, J. C. Boss of Paris. Pallbearers were Charlie Smith, Weldon Maroney, Douglas Boss, Jerry McFadden, William Dale McFadden and Jerry Pitcock."
