THE PARIS NEWS, Mon., Apr. 22, 1996, p. 2A: 'Ruthie Ann Kitchens Basden, 94, a resident of Deport Nursing Home, died there Sunday, April 21, 1996. She was born in the Novice community May 3, 1902, a daughter of Charlie Kitchens and Berrniece [sic] Chennault Kitchens. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry A. Basden. Ruthie was a member of the Church of the Nazarene since 1949. Survivors include her 96-year-old brother, Marvin 'Austin' Kitchens, also of Deport Nursing Home; a step-son, Eugene Basden of Abilene; a step-daughter, Zella M. Terryberry of Paris; three nieces; a nephew; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. 'Gone to Heaven but Never Forgotten.' Ruthie's ashes will be placed in Springhill Cemetery, Novice community, with private services. No flowers Please. Memorials may be made to the Deport Nursing Home residents' Fund. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.'
