THE PARIS NEWS, Mon., Aug. 5, 1996, p. 5A: ‘Dallas - Milton David Barton Sr., 78, of Garland died Sunday, Aug. 4, 1996, at his home. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6 at Moore Springs Cemetery in Lamar County with the Rev. Bill Stone officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m Monday at Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel, 3204 Fairmont St., Dallas. Mr. Barton was born Oct. 4, 1917. He was a deacon at Gatewood Baptist Church in Garland. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Blanche L. Barton; a son and daughter-in-law, M. David and Joann Barton of Mesquite; a granddaughter and her husband, Vicki L. and Jamie Browning of Garland; great-granddaughters, Miranda and Shelby Browning of Garland; a niece, Brenda Blose and her family all of Garland; and other relatives. In lieu of floral tributes the family requests donations be made in Mr. Barton’s name to VNA Hospice, c/o Gatewood Baptist church, 4919 Gatewood St. Garland, Texas 75043.’
