From the record journal of Meadowbrook Cemetery; daughter of Lafayette and Mary Woodle Morris. Born in Red River County, TX., died in Mesquite, Dallas County, TX. THE LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, 10 May 1990. 'Lou Ada Barton, 101 years old, of Mesquite, formerly of Red River County, died at 7 p.m. Wednesday, 9 May 1990, at Charter Suburban Hospital in Mesquite. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, 11 May, in the Bogata Church of Christ with Bill Jones and Eddie Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Cemetery by Bogata Funeral Home. Mrs. Barton was born 12 Mar 1889, in Red River County, a daughter of Lafayette and Mary Ann Woodle Morris. She married Ollie J. Barton on 26 Dec 1909, in Red River County. He died 15 Oct 1965. Surviving are two sons, Van Barton of Paris and Calvin Barton of Longview; two daughters, Martha Ann Fox of Corpus Christi and Catherine Weaver of Mesquite; a brother-in-law, Hurbert Pittman of Chicago, Ill.; a sister-in-law, Opal Morris of Dallas; 14 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Jackie Lewis in 1988 and Maurine Middleton in 1942, and a son, Alvin Russell Barton. Grandsons will be pallbearers.'
