THE PARIS MORNING NEWS, Friday, October 7, 1927: “The death of Miss Golden Barr at 11:10 Thursday morning came as a shock to her many friends as she had been ill at her home on Lamar avenue only a week. Complications arising from infected tonsils caused her fatal illness, it was said. She was the only daughter and the youngest child of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Barr, and was born at Biardstown in this county, where the family formerly lived. Her parents and two brothers, Ira Barr of Wichita Falls, who arrived here last night and Hoyle Barr of this city, survive her. She attended school here, and had been a loyal church worker as well as devoting herself to the interests of the community in which she was born and spent her childhood. The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 3 o’clock at Central Presbyterian church."
