| Notes THE LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, 26 Jan 1989: "Lockey Barnett, 79, of Bluff Route, Soper, Okla., died Thursday, 19 Jan 1989, in St. Joseph’s Hospital. Services were held Saturday, 21 Jan in St. Paul Baptist Church. Burial will be in Bluff Cemetery by Rogan Funeral home. Surviving are two sons, Collis Barnett Jr. of Kansas City, Mo. and Earnest Barnett of Bluff Route; two daughters, Cornest Turner and Georgia Jeffries, both of Bluff Route; one brother, L.J. Sims of Paris, Texas; five sisters, Lillie Jeffries of Bluff Route, Katie Lennox, Inez Sims and Mary Sims, all of Paris, and Rosie Young of Altus, Okla.; 24 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild." Further research has shown that Lockey's maiden name was Sims and that her birth date was July 26, 1909. She is buried in Bluff Cemetery Bluff, Choctaw County, Oklahoma |
