THE PARIS NEWS, Feb. 13, 1978: Clarence Homer Barnett of 1844 El Captain, Apt. 129, Dallas, died about 11:15 a.m. Sunday in Dallas. He was formerly of Paris.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Elsom officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7 to 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home. Mr.
Barnett was born Nov. 8, 1898, in Collin County, Ky., son of Thomas L. Barnett and the former Elsie Hunter. He moved to Atlas, Texas, 1904. He attended public schools and worked for Joe Hillhouse Grocery Co.
in Paris some 23 years. He later worked for Hanks Food Mart until his retirement. Mr. Barnett had lived in Dallas the past five years. In 1926, he married Miss Ollie M.
Ables. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Ila Ruano of Dallas and Miss Winnie Barnett of Dallas; two sons, Ray Barnett of Paris and Billy Wayne Barnett of Garland; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Martha Maxey of Paris and Mrs. Ethel Golden of Richardson; and one brother, Richard Barnett of Tom Ball.
