THE PARIS NEWS-Mar.28,1982: William I. Barnes Jr., of Lubbock died Friday, March 26, at the home of his parents, 120-15th NE in Paris. Graveside services were scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, March 29, in Evergreen Cemetery. Gene Roden's Sons, Directors of Funerals, has charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Barnes was born May 8, 1929, in Monkstown, a son of William I. Barnes Sr. and Mary Josephine Slagle Barnes. He served in the U. S. Air Force during World War II and was a machanic with the C. H. Collier Co. in Lubbock. He married Ann Allred in May, 1980, in Lubbock. Surviving are his wife; his parents; two sons, Gary and William Barnes, both of Lubbock; three brothers, Grover Barnes of Beaumont, Ardie Barnes of Hugo, Okla., and Joe Barnes of Paris; two sisters, Mary Friday of Paris and Card Lewis of Grandbury.
