THE PARIS NEWS, Monday July 23, 1956, p. 2: “Mrs. James Barnes. Paris News Service DEPORT — Mrs. James Barnes of Milton community died Saturday at home. M. Grant Funeral Home here has charge of arrangements for services, which were incomplete, pending word from relatives out of town. Mrs. Barnes, the former Miss Ollie Ogmay Rainwater, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Don Rainwater, was born in Arkansas, April 15, 1882. She was a Baptist. Besides her husband, survivors are these children: Nathan Barnes, Biardstown community; Pat Barnes, Milton; Ira Barnes, Bisbee, Ariz.; Aubrey Barnes, Sulphur Springs, and Mrs. Willie Stigers, Compton, Calif.; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.”
THE PARIS NEWS, Thursday, July 26, 1956, p. 16: “Funeral service for Mrs. James Barnes of Milton community was held at Grant Funeral Home here Tuesday by the Rev. G. Renfro, Baptist minister, burial being made in Milton Cemetery. Grandsons were pallbearers. Mrs. Barnes, a widow [sic], died at home July 21. Surviving are her husband; these children: Nathan Barnes, Biardstown; Pat Barnes, Milton; Ira Barnes, Bisbee, Ariz.; Aubrey Barnes, Sulphur Springs, and Mrs. Willie Stigers, Compton, Calif., nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and these sisters: Mrs. 0. P. Swaim, Aly, Ark.; Mrs. George Priddy, Sulphur, Okla., and Mrs. Les Walker, Austin.”
