THE LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, 10 Aug 1989. 'Mary Fae Barnes, 60, of Abilene, formerly of Lamar County, died Thursday, 3 Aug 1989, in Hendrick Hospital in Abilene. Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, 5 Aug, at Highland Cemetery with Grant Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Miss Barnes was born 10 May 1929, in Idabel, Okla., a daughter of James Nathan and Emma Rook Barnes. Surviving are a brother, Bobby Barnes of Roxton; one sister, Sue King of Paris; and several nieces and nephews.' Buried near Emma Mae Barnes and Charlie Allen Gifford.
