Born in Wolfe City, he was Methodist & served in Navy during WW II. Surviving are his wife, Pauline; a son, Jerry Barnes of Irving; 3 brothers, Edgar Barnes of Austin, Lonnie Barnes of Phoenix, AZ. & Ralph Barnes of Greenville; 1 sister, Berta Fields of Duncanville; 2 grandchildren & a great grandchild.'
