THE PARIS NEWS Tue., Nov., 26, 1991, p. 4A: "Claud H. Barnes of 1635 Walker St. died at the Veterans Hospital in Bonham at 8:05 a.m. on Mon. Services at 10:30 a.m. Wed., at Fry and Gibbs with Rev. M.L. Ralson. Bearers were Billy Hargus, Marion Lester, Hayden Foster, Wayne Barnes, Jerry Green and Clarence Poteet. Born in Paris, son of Roger and Maggie Bunch Barnes. Attended Lamar County schools and married Irene Davidson. She died Dec. 26, 1976. Served in the Army from 1944 until 1946. Retired from sheet metal and glass work for Al Dunning in 1981. Surviving are 2 daughters, Mrs. Roy D. ‘Linda’ Beard of Paris and Mrs. Janie Templeton of Paris; 2 sons, Jimmy C. Barnes of Garland; 11 grandchildren; a great grandchild; 4 sisters, Eleanor Green of Paris, Aline Hargus of Paris, Mable Lester of Paris and Daphna Brown of Paris, and a brother, R. B. Barnes Jr. of Paris."
On the same stone with Irene D. Barnes. Also has a military marker inscribed, "TEC 5 US Army World War II."
