LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, 16 Apr 1981. 'W. H. (Joe) Barnard, 75, of Deport died 13 Apr 1981 in Red River General Hospital in Clarksville. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon 15 Apr in the First United Methodist Church in Deport with the Rev. David Noblin and the Rev. Sam Rice officiating. Burial was in Highland Cemetery under the direction of Grant Funeral Home. Mr. Barnard was born in Deport on 5 Jun 1905, son of Charlie A. Barnard and Sadie Mae Peters Barnard. He married Lucy Pearl Moore in Paris on 20 Sep 1927. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and of the Deport Masonic Lodge. Surviving are his wife; one son, Dr. William Kenneth Barnard of Dallas; one daughter, Mrs John (Patricia Jo) Farmer of Dallas; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.' Double marker with Lucy Moore Barnard. Near Donald Ray Grinstead and James A. Wood.
