THE PARIS NEWS, Wednesday, February 24, 1937, p. 5: “GEORGE BARNARD OF TALCO DIES. Funeral Service For Stock Farmer At Deport Wednesday. DEPORT. (Special) -- Funeral services for George Barnard of Talco, 67 years old who died at the Sanatarium of Paris Tuesday afternoon, were announced for 3 o’clock Wednesday afternoon at the Methodist church here, conducted by the Rev. L. D. Reagan of Saltillo, with burial at Highland cemetery. J. M. Grant, funeral director here, had charge and named as pallbearers were seven nephews, Carl, Arthur, Harold, Homer, Ocie, Edward and Clifford Barnard. Survivors are his wife and two small children; four brothers and a sister, Charles Barnard and Mrs. Sue Williams here; Mack Barnard of Cuthand; Irby Barnard of Kilgore, and Lynn Barnard of South Texas. Mr. Barnard had engaged in stock farming in the Talco area a number of years.”
