THE PARIS NEWS, Friday, April 19, 1935, p. 6: "TWO DEPORT MEN CALLED BY DEATH. E. A. Barham and A. L. Wright Die At About the Same Hour. DEPORT. -- Two elderly residents of Deport died here at about the same hour Thursday afternoon, the funerals being arranged for Friday afternoon. Rites for E. A. Barham, 73 years old, were announced for 3 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Methodist church here, conducted by the Rev. C. S. Wilhite, Methodist pastor; the Rev. Avery Rogers, of the Baptist church and Rev. J. H. Manley, Presbyterian minister, internment being at Highland cemetery. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. J. A. Hogue of Fort Worth and four sons, Clyde and Claude Barham of Deport and Dee of Vernon and Joe of Pittsburg. Services for A. L. Wright, 68 years old, were set for 5 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Baptist church, the Rev. Avery Rogers officiating, and burial being at Highland cemetery. Surviving him are three sons and three daughters, John, Felix and Jodie Wright of Deport, Katie and Lynwest here and Sally Wright of Vernon."
