| Notes THE PARIS NEWS, Wed., Aug. 10, 1994, p.16A. 'Cooper - Iva Banks, 87, of Cooper died Tuesday, Aug. 9, 1994, at St. Joseph's Hospital & Health Center. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, in Delta Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Carter Lyles and J.D. Lancaster officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery. Mrs. Banks was born May 3, 1907, in Delta County, a daughter of James Brackeen and Laura Shannon Brackeen. She married Elisha Banks in 1923. He died Dec. 25, 1964. Surviving are two sons, Ray Banks of Cooper and Jerry Banks of Dallas; four daughters, Frances Thompson of Paris, Louise Smith of Arlington, Jo Rita Powell of Houston and Nina Lewis of Arlington; one sister Ethel Balentine of Decatur; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Officer Terry Lewis, in 1992.' |
