THE PARIS NEWS Sun., Jun. 7, 1992, p.2A. '...(Eddie) 74, 2240 Cleveland, died Sat., Jun. 6, at his home. Funeral mass at 10 a.m. Mon., Jun. 8, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with Father Michael J. Barone... Born in Paris, a son of L. Jack and Kittie Gibbons Bankhead, he attended Notre Dame Academy in Paris, Paris High School and Paris Junior College. He married Helen Jean Bridges in Paris on Sep 5, 1939. He was employed by the Texas Dept. of Highways for 40 years, retiring on Mar. 31, 1980. He served in the Army during WW II and was a retired member of the Texas National Guard and was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Paris Evening Lions Club and The Tex. Society of Professional Engineers. Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Jim 'Kay' French of Odessa; a son, Dr. Jack B. Bankhead of Corsicana; a grandson, Jeff French of Phoenix, AZ; 2 granddaughters, Lisa Bankhead of Columbia, MO and Jamie Kay Bankhead of Corsicana; 3 sisters, Eleanor Florence of Ft. Worth, Dorothy Ormand of Los Angeles, CA and Mary Camper of Welch, WV. He was preceded in death by a brother and 3 sisters. ' On the same stone with Helen Jean Bridges Bankhead. Tombstone is inscribed, 'Cpl US Army WWII.'
