THE PARIS NEWS Wednesday, March 3, 1982. 'MRS. ESSIE BALLARD. Mrs. Essie Mary Ballard, 82, Rt. 1, Roxton, died at St. Joseph's Hospital at 12 pm Tuesday, March 2. Services are scheduled for 2 pm Thursday, March 4, at Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jimmye Newman officiating and burial in Meadowbrook Cemetery. The family will be at the Ballard residence; Mrs. Ballard was born March 14, 1899, in Lamar County, a daughter of Roe Funston and Ethel Clark Funston. She married J. R. Ballard in 1917. He died in 1963. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Surviving are two sons, Roy M. Ballard of Roxton and Ronald E. Honse of Lake Dallas; one daughter, Mrs. Linda Brown of Irving; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Annadel Burns of Lubbock and Mrs. Aquilla Newman of Waco; and two brothers, Turner Funston of Wichita Falls and Herman Funston of Nacogdoches.'
