THE PARIS NEWS Tue., Jul. 13, 1993, p.12A. 'Ruby P. Baker, 85, 2185 E. Cherry St., died Monday, July 12, at McCuistion Regional Medical Center. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 14, in Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with Randy Miller and Shane Carrington officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery in Deport. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Baker was born Aug. 24, 1907, in Paris, a daughter of William and Amanda Coke Meeks. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She married Wayne Baker Nov. 2, 1929, in Hugo. He died Oct. 19, 1976. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Martha and George Hill of Paris; a son and daughter-in-law, Giles and Jan Baker of Pasadena; four grandchildren and their spouses, Paula and Tony Douglas of White Oak, Gregg and Gina Baker of Sulphur Springs, Meggan and Joe Phillips of Lafayette, LA, and Jeff and Gala Baker of Port Neches; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Bonnie Dye of Paris. Pallbearers will be James Whiteman, Larry Parker, Gregg Baker, Tony Douglas, Jeff Baker and Joe Phillips.' This is also entered under surname Meeks.
