THE PARIS NEWS, Monday, April 30, 1956, p. 2: “Mrs. D. H. Baker. Mrs. D. H. Baker, 75, died Monday at 10 a.m., at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Neil Bozeman, 238-10th SE. The funeral, Wednesday at 10 a. m., will be conducted at Fry-Gibbs chapel by the Rev. Robert Richardson of Central Presbyterian Church, with interment in Evergreen Cemetery.”

THE PARIS NEWS, Tuesday, May 1, 1956, p. 6: “Baker Services. The funeral of Mrs. D. H. Baker, 75, will be conducted Wednesday at 10 a. m. at Fry-Gibbs chapel by the Rev. Robert Richardson of Central Presbyterian Church, of which Mrs. Baker was a member. Burial will be made in Evergreen Cemetery, pallbearers to be Grady Fry, Gus Baize, James Allen Hickman, Frank Underwood, George Henderson and Chester S. Terrell. Mrs. Baker, widow of a longtime Paris furniture dealer, died Monday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Neil Bozeman, 238-10th SE where she lived. The former Miss Cora Smith daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Marshall T. Smith, Mrs. Baker was born in Fort Smith, Ark., August 23, 1879. Surviving are three daughters: Mrs. Bozeman here; Mrs. C. H. Dorman, Houston, and Mrs. W. L. Cobb, Dallas; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild; a sister, Mrs. W. F. Sheppard, Paris; and two brothers, Grover Smith, San Antonio, and E. H. Smith, Long Beach, Calif.
