THE PARIS NEWS, Thu., Nov. 30, 1995, p.14A. 'Louise Beatie Baize, 86, 1418 Lamar Ave., died at 4:02 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, 1995, at McCuistion Regional Medical Center. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, at Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Marvin Williams officiating. Following the service, a private committal service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery for family and invited friends. Mrs. Baize was born Dec. 3, 1908, in Paris, a daughter of Henry Albert and Mable Delaney Beaty Beatie. She attended public schools in Paris and Paris Junior College, Southern Methodist University, and Columbia University of New York. She was a longtime teacher in the English department of Paris High School. In 1967 she was named Outstanding Teacher of the Year by the Paris Independent School District. She was a member of the Joseph Ligon Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution and served as Regent from 1958-61. She was also a member of the Retired Teachers Association, Phi Delta Kappa Sorority and of Central Presbyterian Church where she served as a church elder. She married Augustus 'Gus' [Lawrence] Baize June 24, 1950. He died May 16, 1989. Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Marion and Bette Beatie of Dallas; one niece, Beth Wilson of Dallas; and two great-nephews, Brandon Belcher and Brian Belcher, both of Dallas. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Edwin Orr Beatie and David Manton Beatie. Pallbearers will be Homer Thornton, Carl Mac Coker, Bob Norment, Sims Norment and Carl Cecil.'
