THE PARIS NEWS Sun., Nov. 17, 1991, p. 4A: ‘Morris Shepard Bailey, 82, Rt.2, Powderly, died at St. Joseph’s Hospital at 5:24 p.m. on Fri. Services at 10 a.m. Mon., at Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Jim Yarbrough. Fry and Gibbs had charge. Born in Paris, son of E.J. and Alva Coker Bailey. Attended Paris schools and Paris Commercial College. Married Ellen Holmes. A veteran of WW II, serving in the Navy. He managed restaurants for the government for a number of years and owned restaurants in Mission, Mercedes and Temple. He moved to Paris in 1973. Surviving are his wife; a sister, Beatrice Norrell of Powderly; 2 brothers, Woody Bailey and J.L. Bailey both of Paris, and several nieces and nephews."
On the same stone with Ellen M. Holmes Bailey. Also has a military marker inscribed, "SC1, US Navy World War II."
