THE PARIS NEWS, Sun., Aug. 6, 1978: "Morris A. (Bud) Bailey of 222-25th NW died Friday at McCuistion Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Leverett-Steele-Thomas Memorial Chapel with the Rev. C. C. Fulton officiating with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. He was born Jan. 31, 1908 at Post Oak, the son of the late Phillip H. Bailey and the former Mary Susan (Molly) Speegle. He moved to Blossom Prairie as a child and attended school at Watson and Byrdtwon. He was a farmer. For a number of years he was an employee of the North East Texas Motor Lines and the Cooper Butane Company. He married Hettie Mae Dockrey Oct. 22, 1932 at Hugo, Okla. He was a member of the church of the Nazarene where he served as Sunday school superintendent, trustee on the church board and a Bible class teacher. Survivors include his wife; five sons, Morris A. Bailey Jr. of Saratoga, Calif., Bob Bailey and Jackie Bailey both of Paris; James M. Bailey of Jacksonville, Fla. and Sgt. John Paul Bailey of Paris; one sister, Pauline Welch of Dallas; 12 grandchildren. The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home."
