THE PARIS NEWS, Wednesday, October 1960, p. 6: “MRS. P. B. BAILEY. Paris News Service. DEPORT. -- Mrs. Pow B. Bailey, widow of a longtime justice of the Peace in this vicinity, died Tuesday at 10:45 at Ripley Convalescents Home here. She had been a resident there the past two or three years. The funeral, Friday at 2 p.m., will be held at Mr. Pleasant Baptist Church, west of town, and burial made by Grant Funeral Home of Deport. Daughter of James A. and Eva (Long) Green, Mrs. Bailey was the former Miss Margie Ann Green, born at New Boston, October 7, 1881. She was married in 1899 to Powhatan B. Bailey, whose death occurred in 1954. The had lived at Deport, Paris and Pattonville. She leaves these children: F. P. Bailey, Borger; M. B. Bailey, Deport; Chester Bailey, Dumas; Bruce Bailey, San Francisco; Mrs. Eula Cheatham, Compton, Calif.; Mrs. Mildred Holbert, San Diego, Calif., and a foster son, Robert Bailey, Ft. Worth; 35 other descendants; these sisters and brothers: Mrs. Martha Foust, Cooper, Mrs. J. Y. Cooper, Boswell, Okla.; Mrs. Lule Smith, Garland; Miss Ara Green and Irvin Green, Paris, and Harless Green, Glenwood, Ark., and a foster brother, Odis Moore, Garland.”
