THE PARIS NEWS, Oct. 05, 2005: "Hettie Mae Bailey, 95, of Blossom went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2005. Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home will conduct graveside services at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Gentry officiating. The family receives friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. She was born May 10, 1910, in Devol, Okla., the daughter of John Adam and Annie Mary Burks Dockrey. She moved to Blossom Prairie at the age of two and lived in Lamar County the rest of her life. She attended school at Starksville and Blossom. She married Morris Bailey on Oct. 22, 1932, in Hugo, Okla. He died Aug. 4, 1978. She was a member of Church of the Nazarene for over 65 years. She was active in both the Paris and Blossom Nazarene churches for her entire adult life. She retired from McCuistion Regional Medical Center in 1975. She loved her work, her church, her family and sports. She was an avid fan of the Texas A&M Aggies, the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers. She was a good and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents; five brothers; one sister; and two grandsons. She is survived by her sons and their wives, Morris Bailey and Jean of Ashburn, Va., Bob Bailey and Dorothy of Paris, Jim Bailey and Hallie of Jacksonville, Fla., Jack Bailey and Martha of Laurinburg, N.C., and John Bailey and Jennifer of San Antonio; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; her sister, Johnye Smith and her husband, Phillip of Henderson; and numerous nieces and nephews."
