THE PARIS NEWS, Friday, February 19, 1937, p. 1: “Harold Bailey Dies At Lamar Hospital From Internal Injuries. Harold Bailey of Pattonville, died at Lamar hospital Friday morning at 3 o’clock of internal injuries suffered some days ago while working on a truck at Pattonville. The hammer he was using to remove a bolt slipped and drove the chisel into his abdomen, lacerating the intestines. The body was taken to Pattonville by Mack Grant, Deport funeral director, funeral services being arranged for 4:30 Friday afternoon at Mt. Pleasant community church near Deport, conducted by the Rev. T. Tally, Jr., Baptist pastor Surviving besides his wife are a child by a former marriage, his mother and two brothers living at Ft. Towson, Okla., and two sisters at Pattonville, Mrs. Delbert Smith and Mrs. Arb Farmer.”
