THE PARIS NEWS, Monday, May 5, 1980, p. 4: "Edward Bailey of Rt. 1, Arthur City died Saturday morning at L.P. McCuistion Regional Medical Center. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday in the St. Mark United Methodist Church at Arthur City with the pastor, the Rev. George Brewer officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 7:30 - 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Bailey was born Jan. 19, 1915 in Lamar County, a son of Bloom and Carrie Goff Bailey. He married Geneva L. McDonald on November 4, 1939. He attended Lamar County public Schools. Mr. Bailey was a member of the St. Mark United Methodist Church and was treasurer of the benevolence fund of that church. He also was a member and treasurer of the Foster White Lodge, number 129, at Arthur City. He was a long time employee of Sears Roebuck Co. Survivors include his wife; one son, Charles Bailey; three brothers, William Bailey of Paris, , Robert Bailey of Topeka Kan. and Winfred Bailey of Odessa; and two sisters, Mrs. Mary L. Smith of Inkster, Mich. and Mrs. Carrie Mae Hamilton of Munday."
