Notes
THE PARIS NEWS, March, 1944: "Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at Pyles Cemetery near Direct, Texas, for J. W. Birdsong, 76, the Rev. J. I. Wideman officiating. Coffey Funeral Home of Hugo was in charge of internment. Mr. Birdsong, a former resident of Choctaw County, died at his home at Direct late Thursday, leaving his wife and 13 children."
Even though obituary states that he is buried in Pyles Cemetery, a tombstone with the same date of death was found in Mt. Vernon Cemetery.
